Meet Raresama Artist - Ep.#03
Today we are chatting with Larana! She is an incredible and established artist in our ecosystem with a lot of unique NFTs. Lets learn more about her and her artistic vision!
Hi Laranna, would you mind sharing some information about yourself?
I have been an illustrator for about 5 years and an NFT artist for 1 year. I am part of the "Raresama Originals" in the Raresama marketplace. I have my first collection uploaded there called "The weather girls".
When you first began working with NFTs, what was the biggest challenge you faced?
The biggest challenge is always choosing what collections to make, because it is very difficult to know if it will be successful and if people will like it. It is a constant challenge lol.
Can you explain your artistic style and how it has developed over time?
Since I was a child, I always liked the anime series that were on TV and that's why I started drawing on my own. I always considered it as a hobby but one day I started taking classes, and now it's my job😊. My art is 2D, cartoon, colorful, with a cheerful approach. I love to make fanarts of things I like in my free time.
Which artists have had the greatest impact on your own work?
I have many references but without a doubt, my eyes are always on everything Laia López (@itslopez on Instagram) does.
Could you describe your step-by-step process for creating an NFT?
Well, the first thing is always brainstorming for the general idea and possible name of the collection or piece. Then I do all the sketches, I need to have a global vision. It is also important to consult with our close people to give us their opinions or different points of view. Then comes the whole process of cleaning up the sketches and coloring until everything is finished. Last, comes the best part... lying around and hoping they sell well.
You recently released your own collection of NFTs on the Raresama NFT marketplace. Can you provide more information about your collection and how you developed the concept?
The first thought I had about "The Weather girls" was: I need something simple. Because before them, came another collection of perhaps too ambitious dimensions to be the first hahahaha. That's when I thought well, the weather is fine. I'll do girls based on the weather. And there came out the 8 of them (which may be more at some point👀).
How important is community engagement and feedback to you? Do you have any future plans for the holders of your NFTs?
Of course! Feedback is always important. You need to address what the viewer is looking for. I don't want to give too much away, I'm just going to say that "The Weather girls" is just the tip of the iceberg 🤫 The holders of my NFTs will be very well rewarded for supporting my work.
Out of all the NFTs you have created, which one is your favorite?
Mmm not out yet but my MOON NFT is one of my favorites along with CLOUD (that one is available).
What is your opinion on the future of the Raresama marketplace?
Oh yes, I think Raresama has a bright future. A lot of people support it and artists including myself are very happy with the deal and the platform. The community is very welcoming and we all get along very well. More and more people are coming to upload their art here, we have styles of all tastes.
How do you think the NFT space will evolve in the coming years?
All this is developing a lot and very fast but mostly I hope that people who don't know about NFTs will get it, understand it and normalize it. I also hope that the issue of theft from other artists is increasingly controlled so that such things do not happen.
For artists looking to enter the NFT space at this moment, what advice would you give them?
Well, I don't have much experience in this yet. But I would tell them to make friends, get along with the community they make. Because having supporters is very good here. For example in Raresama people help each other a lot. There is great feedback and a good atmosphere. I would also tell them to let their art flow and create pieces with which they feel comfortable but at the same time taking into account what people like the most, basically mixing those two concepts.
Is there anything else you would like to share with our readers, and what can we anticipate from you in 2023?
The beginnings of a new collection 👀a big one. I just want to thank all those who have read this interview and those who follow what I do. It is a pleasure to be able to dedicate myself to what I like and that there are people willing to value it so positively.
